The place
Rustad Hotel & Fjellstue is a pleasant family hotel on Sjusjøen. Situated by Lake Sjusjøvannet, we have great hiking opportunities and nature experiences right outside our door. We have 45 rooms and 5 cabins for rent. The hotel can offer a ski storage room as well as a sauna in winter and boat and canoe rental in summer. We also have table tennis and billiards available, as well as great hiking opportunities right outside our door. We are known for our good food and serve a 3-course dinner of the day. In winter, we have a lunch buffet every day.
We have extensive experience with weddings and other parties, and we are a great alternative for meetings and courses in good, spacious surroundings with a great view.
The hosts
Rustad Hotel & Fjellstue has been run by the Rustad family for over 85 years. The hotel is currently run by the 4th generation, Karianne Rustad and her family. We are committed to creating a pleasant and informal atmosphere that allows guests to relax and have a pleasant time here in the mountains.

summer/autumn
- Hiking – Sjusjøen has great hiking opportunities and everything is easily accessible right outside the hotel.
- Boat and canoe – Rustad Hotel offers canoe and boat rentals for use on Sjusjøvannet. Life jackets included.
- Cycling – Sjusjøen is a good area for cycling, both on paths and gravel roads. It is possible to rent bicycles in the area.
- Swimming – Rustad Hotel is located right next to Sjusjøvannet and has its own swimming area.
- Close to a lot – there are many offers, both for several activities and culture, within a short distance of Sjusjøen.
Winter
- Cross-country skiing – Sjusjøen has been voted the best cross-country skiing area in Norway for several years. Come and try it and you’ll see why!
- Alpine skiing – Sjusjøen also has a small alpine slope that is a great family slope for young and old.
- Dog sledding – Sjusjøen Husky Tours offers dog sledding tours in the area.
- Snowshoes – snowshoes can be rented at the hotel and give you access to the entire mountain, you can go exactly where you want! A different and fun trip.
Opening hours: The winter season runs from Christmas to Easter
The summer season runs from July to the autumn holidays.
In the intermediate periods we are open for groups and companies.
